  • Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch 2939 North Co Road 31D Loveland, Colorado, 80538 United States (map)

November 14, 2026

There’s a new challenge waiting on the trail.

The Lone Tree Reckoning Trail Half & 5K is your chance to trade pavement for dirt, take in the scenery, and find out what the trail has in store for you.

Don’t let the views fool you—this course has some personality. Expect a mix of runnable stretches, climbs, changing terrain, and sections that will make you work for that finish. Whether you’re taking on the Trail Half Marathon or the 5K, this is a race built for runners who are ready for a little adventure.

Trail Half Marathon

Thirteen-ish miles of trail, challenge, and plenty of reasons to keep moving forward. The course will test you, but you don’t have to be the fastest runner on the trail to take it on.

Half Marathon Time Limit: 4½ Hours (Starts at 7:30am)

That’s an average pace of approximately 20:36 per mile. The course is absolutely hike-friendly when the terrain calls for it, but participants should be prepared to maintain steady forward progress throughout the race.

Trail 5K

Want a taste of the Reckoning without committing to the half? The Trail 5K brings its own dose of dirt, scenery, and challenge in a shorter distance. It’s a great option for newer trail runners or anyone looking for a fun fall trail race. (Starts at 9am)

Come ready to run. Come ready to hike when you need to. Come ready to earn that finish.

The trail is waiting. Are you ready for the Reckoning?

Lone Tree Reckoning Trail Half & 5K — Q&A

Is this a trail race?
Yes! Both the Half Marathon and 5K take place on trails. Expect natural terrain, elevation changes, and sections that are very different from your typical road race.

How difficult is the course?
Don’t let the scenery fool you—this course has some personality! There are runnable sections, but there are also climbs and more challenging portions of trail. Come prepared to adjust your pace, hike when needed, and enjoy the adventure.

What is the time limit for the Half Marathon?
The Half Marathon has a 4½-hour time limit. This is approximately a 20:36 per-mile average pace. Participants should be prepared to maintain steady forward progress throughout the course.

Can I hike/walk the Half Marathon?
Yes! Hiking is part of trail running, especially when the terrain gets tough. Participants are welcome to run, hike, or use a combination of both as long as they can complete the course within the 4½-hour cutoff.

Is the 5K good for newer trail runners?
Yes! The 5K is a great way to experience the Lone Tree Reckoning without taking on the full Half Marathon distance. Keep in mind that this is still a trail race, so expect uneven terrain and more challenge than you might find in a traditional road 5K.

What swag do participants receive?
We have some great race swag planned!

  • Half Marathon: Lone Tree Reckoning dry bag + hat

  • 5K: Lone Tree Reckoning hat

Do I need trail shoes?
Trail shoes are recommended but not required. Shoes with good traction are strongly encouraged due to the natural and uneven terrain.

Are headphones allowed?
No. Headphones are not permitted during the race. Runners need to be able to hear other participants, volunteers, course instructions, and what is happening around them on the trail.

Are dogs allowed?
No. Dogs are not permitted on the property, including dogs belonging to participants or spectators.

Can I bring a stroller or bike?
No. Bikes and strollers are not permitted. This applies to the race course and event property.

Are there aid stations?
Aid station locations and what will be available at each station will be announced as race day gets closer.

What happens if there is bad weather?
It’s November in Colorado, so come prepared for changing conditions! Race organizers will monitor the weather and trail conditions leading up to race day. Any important changes or race-day updates will be communicated to registered participants.

What should I bring?
Dress for the weather and be prepared for trail conditions. Layers are always a good idea in November. Half Marathon participants may also want to carry their own hydration and nutrition between aid stations.

When will final race-day details be available?
Registered participants will receive race-day information before the event, including parking, packet pickup, course information, aid stations, and other important instructions.
