Bell Ringer 2-Miler

Bell Ringer 2-Miler

Our community is the only city in the nation to follow the old tradition of ringing bells throughout the town in the early morning hours of Veteran’s Day. This race will mimic some of those old traditions to honor our nation's veteran community. We are honored to be part of this 2-Mile event and look forward to the engagement of the families in Loveland. This event benefits Post 2000, which is created a Loveland Colorado Veteran's Assistance program.

We have a new start time for the Bell Ringer!! We will now be starting at 9am in the morning! Come start your day off with us for the 2-mile around the lake route.

This year the girls that are part of the BStrong BFit program will be returning. Their race will now start at 11am! We are thrilled to have them join us again. Cheer them on and hollar an encouraging word if you see them running. They will be training for 8 weeks to run a 2-mile route designed just for them.

2-Mile Route

Race First Stop:

  1. Is parking available? Yes. There is parking in the parking lots at the park. There is a parking lot off 29th at Loveland High School. There is LIMITED parking at North Lake Park.

  2. Am I guaranteed a water bottle? To be guaranteed a water bottle you must register by October 25th. We always order extras and you will see the inventory when you register. We always have other swag available if we run out.

  3. Is there race day registration? Yes. ALL registration is online. The price goes up on race day. Please see the pricing on the registration link.

  4. Is there a pre-race day packet pickup? Yes! You can come to TBD, on Nov 8th, 5:00-6:00pm to pick up your packet. If you miss it, you can get yours 45 min before the race begins on Saturday.

  5. Will you cancel the race if it’s cold, snowing, windy, or rainy? No. We will hold the event rain or shine. Lightening will delay the event, but that chance is very, VERY slim.

  6. If you are a Veteran or First Responders, please contact us for a discount code. Thank you for your service.

Many people still do not know about the tradition of the Bell Ringers and why that is why the race on Nov 5th is called, Bell Ringer 4-miler. We are honored to have them join us at the event and line the start/finish line. Here is the link to the history of the Bell Ringers. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.reporterherald.com/2015/11/07/lovelands-bell-ringing-tradition-runs-deep/amp/

Every participant will receive a memorable campfire mug and bib. Shirts can be added on during registration. This event will benefit KidsPak. We will be accepting food and money donations to help fill their shelves and a portion of the proceeds will go to them too.

Race Stop below answers a lot of questions about the event. Please scroll down to see frequently answered questions. The run starts at 8am with the start line open until 8:30am. Feel free to hang out and cheer on others after you finish. We will have some stuffin’ for you at the finish.

We will be updating with all the info soon. Stayed tuned…. It’s going to be a great event!!

H4S Course 2020 (2).png

Race First Stop:

  1. Am I guaranteed a mug? Yes, but you must be registered by Nov 1st. After Nov 1st, it will be on a first-come basis. Inventory will be in Run Sign Up. If we run out you can choose the option to donate to KidsPak. After the run is over and virtual packets are filled, then any mugs not picked up will be up for grabs if you didn’t get one.

  2. Is there early packet pickup? Yes! There will be two options! First one is you can go to Altitude Running in Fort Collins, Sunday - Tuesday (week of Thanksgiving) to pick up your packets, or you can come to Backyard Tap, Wednesday, Nov 27th, between 5-6pm. We encourage both options to help with congestion and lines on Thanksgiving morning.

  3. What time is race day packet pickup? You can pick up your packets starting at 7:15am at the park. The run will start promptly at 8am.

  4. How do I get my virtual packet? If you chose to have it mailed and pay the fee, we will ship them by the following Monday. You can contact us for a porch pickup or, we will take it to a local sponsor the following week for pickup.

  5. Can I bring my dog? Yes! We are very dog-friendly. We just ask that your dog is well-behaved, keep your dog leashed (6ft or shorter), and don’t impede other runners with a long leash.

  6. Is the course stroller-friendly? Yes! It’s on the paved paths throughout the park. Please start towards the back of the pack. (We made a slight adjustment to the start because of all the awesome folks coming out). The first 50(ish) feet is on grass. The rest is paved.

  7. Keep in mind, Huffin for Stuffin is a Fun Run/Walk, which means we do not officially time the race. There will be a running clock at the finish line so you can see your approximate time.

  8. Please bring food and money donations for KidsPak! We are helping them to raise funds to fill their shelves! They help so many children in our community. They need canned ravioli, canned spaghetting sauce, boxed mac n cheese, granola bars, etc. No glass containers or expired items.

They partner with 38 other agencies who serve the same population and provides them with emergency funds, necessary items, activities for their kids, outreach, etc. They are able to distribute to the agencies and kids, 100% of what is donated to them because they have a unique model of being funded by 250+ local business members. Loveland Liberty

For the 11th year, the LL5K, hosted by Sweetheart City Racing, is scheduled to begin at Grimm Brothers Brewhouse on July 4th at 8 am. Runners and walkers are encouraged to attend. We are proud to support Health4Heroes. Please visit their links below and stop by their booth on race day. The race will begin promptly at 8 a.m. Racers will need to arrive early to assure smooth parking (as it is limited) as well as an on-time start. The Elite corral/wave will start at 8:45am. If you can run a 5K under 24 min for men, under 26 min for women, sign up and run with the Elites.

Returning this year is the kid’s race! Small children toddler - elementary aged, can run around 100 yards and cross the finish line! More details coming soon.

Please check out our Race First Stop! It will have frequently asked questions and answers.

Race First Stop:

  1. Is parking available? Yes. There is plenty of parking on the north side of the building from Grimm Brothers. We will have sections of parking lot blocked off for the race, on the south side of the building near the entrance of Grimm Brothers Brewhouse. Look for signs directing you where to park.

  2. Am I guaranteed a shirt? To be guaranteed a shirt you must register by June 18th. We always order extras and you will see inventory when you register. We always have other swag available if we run out of shirts.

  3. Is there race day registration? Yes. ALL registration is online. If you want to pay with cash or a check please see one of the volunteers to assist you. The price goes up on race day. Please see the pricing on the registration link.

  4. Will you cancel the race if it’s cold, snowing, windy, or rainy? No. We will hold the event rain or shine. Lightening will delay the event, but that chance is very, VERY slim.

  5. If you are a Veteran or First Responders, please contact us for a discount code. Thank you for your service.

  6. Packet Pickup: Pre-race packet pickup will be July 3rd, 5-6:30pm, at Grimm Brothers Brewhouse. You may pick up your packet on race day starting at 7am, at the event area, but we HIGHLY encourage you to pick it up July 3rd. Race packets and shirts will not be available after the race has begun. Please make sure you get your packets before the race starts.

  7. Are scooters allowed?: We love seeing all the kiddos at the Loveland Liberty 5K. For the safety of other participants, scooters, bikes, rollerblades, and skates are not allowed. If your children are too young to walk or run the 5K, we have the “Littles” run starting around 9:15am, just after the Elite race is over. Awards will be right after the “Littles” race.

  8. Are Dogs Allowed?: Dogs are welcome but MUST BE WELL BEHAVED. They have to be leashed the entire time. Any dogs caught off-leash will result in you getting disqualified and they won’t be able to return. We love seeing them out there on the course, but for safety reasons, they need to be well-behaved and leashed at all times. Leashes must be 5 feet in length or shorter. Please be considerate of others around you so you don’t trip people with the leashes. Poudre Pet and Feed Supply will be there with a booth and their treat truck. They have great treats for your fur family priced between $1-$4 usually. There will be water for them at the aid station and finish line.

  9. Do you have awards? Yes! Here is the breakdown:

Overall - top 3 male and female, medals, gift cash purse, local gift cards, shoes for 1st place(from Altitude Running)
